Il CES 2009 ha portato numerose novità nel settore della telefonia mobile, alcune davvero molto interessanti. Abbiamo parlato del Palm Pre e delle nuove possibilità offerte dalla neonata piattaforma WebOS, ma anche altre aziende hanno cercato di lanciare un prodotto singolare per l’occasione. Mentre LG punta tutto sul suo primo telefonino da polso, la connazionale Samsung Electronics guarda con attenzione verso l’intrattenimento e la multimedialità. Come? Lo fa con un particolare cellulare ribattezzato Samsung Show, nuovo touch screen device del grupo sud coreano basato su piattaforma TouchWiz. Conosciuto anche con il nome MBP200, il terminale in questione ha un form factor abbastanza in linea con quanto finora visto sul mercato.
Nel settore della telefonia mobile sensibile al tocco, infatti, le novità in termini di design sono abbastanza rare. Ma la caratteristica principale di questo terminale è la presenza di un mini proiettore DLP che consente di proiettare all’esterno le immagini e i video contenuti nel dispositivo stesso, fino ad un’ampiezza massima di 50 pollici. Ciò che sorprende maggiormente del prodotto, a detta di chi ha avuto un incontro ravvicinato con esso, è la straordinaria qualità delle immagini proiettate, molto luminose anche in condizioni di non totale buio.
Oltre alla particolarità inedita di questo terminale, c’è da segnalare anche la presenza di un chip GPS integrato, del supporto per le reti di terza generazione e di un T-DMB receiver, che rendono il prodotto ancora più completo. Frutto della partnership tra Samsung e Anycall, il Samsung Show potrebbe diventare un punto di riferimento non soltanto per chi vuole condividere i propri contenuti con gli altri, ma anche per un uso professionale, come ad esempio le presentazioni aziendali.
Un prodotto altamente portabile, che potrebbe davvero cambiare la concezione stessa di terminale manageriale o professionale. In attesa di rivederlo nuovamente al Mobile World Congress 2009 di Barcellona, speriamo in ulteriori informazioni su quando verrà commercializzato e sui paesi in cui sarà reso disponibile.
